  • I recently got divorced and needed a place to live that would be convenient to my office in Waltham and to my kids who live with mom on South Shore during the week. This location is ideal as it's only a few minutes from I-95/Rte 128. I stopped by the complex with my kids and met with Alan who was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. Alan's customer service skills are fantastic. He showed us everything: the onsite 24 hour gym, theatre room, pool, clubhouse and of course 2 units with different floorplans that we were interested in. We were provided with sodas, snacks, candy, everything we needed to feel comfortable. Alan answered all of our questions and made all of us feel welcome and cared for. Alan provided great documentation and everything was easy and straight forward. This wasn't a high pressure sales environment but rather a relaxed yet thorough demonstration of all of the wonderful features at Jefferson. I've always owned a home and even owned my own business buying and renting out investment properties. I work in customer service and know the value of the customer. I was extremely impressed with everything at Jefferson. Another huge perk of Jefferson is that they allow pets...up to 2 pets to be exact AND you don't pay through the nose (snout) to do so. In fact, there are no crazy pet deposits and extra payments for pets each month. I grew up on a farm and really wanted to have a mini pig which wasn't on the list of approved pets. Alan quickly had a conversation with Marella, the manager, and she was flexible and willing to work with me. I'm extremely grateful for a flexible management team at Jefferson who really put the customer first and who work WITH the customer to find agreeable solutions. In addition to the pet flexibility, Marella was flexible with move in dates and times such that I can move in this Friday after 5pm. Everyone I've had the privilege of meeting at Jefferson has been outstanding. I would be remiss to not mention Chloe who helped show me the storage options that exist at Jefferson. Yes, they have storage units onsite at Jefferson so you don't have to deal with yet another company off site and any back and forth you might need....AWESOME PERK and even cheaper, I found than many of the offsite options. Chloe printed out contracts and allowed me to see and photograph the unit I'm moving into again. She was knowledgeable, friendly and extremely professional as well. In short, I can't tell you how pleased I have been with this entire experience. Jefferson doesn't require your first born child to move in either. It's a simple security deposit (not even one month's rent) and you just pay the rent for the actual month you're moving in (mind blown). My kids and I are thrilled to be moving into Jefferson. This is just what I wanted and needed after a divorce....painless, efficient, friendly and exciting. My kids are stoked to spend time here and I can't wait for the big house warming which by the way will be simple and easy with Jefferson...parking isn't an issue so you don't have to ask friends to carpool, take the T or parachute to. Location...I have to say again...THIS IS THE LOCATION. It's right near Legacy Place in Dedham...and I mean there is a path that takes your from Jefferson to Legacy Place...a path!. It is also right across the street from the Dedham commuter rail station for easy access to Boston. I'm not sure I could be happier. Alan, Chloe AND manager Marella have been AMAZING. I can't wait to move in!

I wish I could give the place more stars because of location, but unfortunately the company as a whole and the employees are just not here for customer service. My boyfriend and I lived here for two years with our dog and son and 1.5 years later had a second child. We chose to move into the apartments because of location and because they are a dog friendly community. However, we were a bit concerned because with a toddler, an apartment that has carpet everywhere except the kitchen could be messy and can cause stains from juice spills and other toddler madness. We expressed our thoughts and concern with the two men that were assisting us with this process and we were assured that carpets are replaced after every resident. This is what ultimately gave us the go to move in. Given that we are a young couple with a child we didn’t want to be stuck with any large bills at the time of move out. The pools is great, but the hot tub/Spa is ALWAYS closed for repairs. It worked maybe for a total of two weeks throughout the 2 years we lived there. The gym is not huge but it does the job for those that do cardio and minimal lifting. All it needs is a squat rack and a bar and it would be perfect! The apartment itself was great. We were on the 4th floor so we had a nice view of Legacy Place and the layout in the apartment was amazing! The downfall about this floor was, in the winter the air is dry and its cold and in the summer its extremely hot and muggy. We also came across a lot of centipedes in the summer on this floor. We had friends on the first floor that had centipedes in the winter. Another thing that was frustrating were the cheap linoleum floors and cheap appliances. We had maintenance come for our washer and dishwasher many times. The appliances are VERY outdated. Our washer broke down and we noticed there was rust under the agitator. Maintenance came and just screwed the agitator back on instead of acknowledging the rust and ordering a new piece for it. So, the whole time I was washing my new born and 3-year-olds clothes in a rusted machine and maintenance didn't think to replace the piece. Instead they acted like they didn't see the rust or simply didn’t care. It wasn't until I completed a survey about my experience that this was acknowledged and fixed. I'm just happy we had the appliances, but with the word luxury on their sign and website you would think there would be better appliances and flooring. Other than that, the actual apartment inside was comfortable, neat, and nicely structured. I saved the three best comments for last. The Staff in the office changed constantly! There were maybe 4 managers before we moved out it was a mess. The people they hired were rude, but were nice when they wanted to be. There were times I would go and stand in the middle of the floor waiting for minutes at a time for someone to acknowledge that I was even standing there and needed help. I was only there to pick up packages. Thank god they added the package concierge because it helped minimize contact with them. Which is awful I shouldn't feel relieved that I don't have to see employees from my properties office. The second downfall was that we arranged to leave the country the day after our lease ends because we knew we were not going to renew. The space was getting too small with our newborn. We didn’t notice our lease was extended 2 weeks longer than the previous year when we renewed. So, we ended up having to pay for two weeks of our lease that we weren't even present for. Lastly when we moved out we got a bill for damaged carpets. My son spilled paint on the carpets and we couldn't get it completely out ourselves. But of-coarse we received a bill of $722 for the carpets. I reached out to the manager to let her know we discussed this with the gentlemen at the office at the time of move in. Her response was pretty much I don't know why he would have said that because it’s not our "policy". Overall disappointed by the last two months of this apartments poor customer service and absurd carpet charges.
